How can I create a valve interface symbol in HyDraw and export to MDTools?
Below image shows the Custom Interface symbol
having 3 ports A, B, C.
After creating the Interface pattern in MDTools Library
Manager you can link the Interface pattern name with HyDraw symbol.
To create the custom interface symbol in HyDraw CAD, follow the steps mentioned below: -
- In HyDraw CAD, Select the Build
Symbol command under Symbol dropdown in Circuit tab.
- In Symbol Editor mode,
Draw the below profile using AutoCAD command from Drafting tab.
- To convert the AutoCAD profile
into HyDraw CAD entities, go to Symbol Editor tab -> Draw group
-> Select Universal Line command. And draw a short line for
reference.
- Select Match Properties
command from the Properties group. Then select universal line as a
source object and AutoCAD profile as destination.
- Delete the Universal Line.
- Now, go to Symbol Editor
tab -> Modify group-> select Insert symbol port command and
define the port A, B, C.
- Define Insertion point.
- Assign the component type from
the Type group
- Click on Save Change to save the changes.
- To add the created symbol into
Library, Select the open Library Editor option.
- Add a new folder and add the created symbol.
- To link the Footprint name (Created in
MDTools Library Manager) with the HyDraw symbol, Select the symbol and from the
HyDraw Property Manager -> Model Data -> Type the footprint
name.
