How do I configure auto-saves and recover drawing files?

Set the auto save time as required:

  1. Click the HyDraw Icon in the upper left hand corner.

  2. Then, click Options at the bottom of the pop up screen.

3. Click the Open and Save tab.

4. Check the Automatic save box and set the time between saves.

5. Apply and OK.

Automatic Save File Location can be seen as changed in the Files tab.

The AutoSaved file will have extension .sv$ which you can be changed to .dwg and opened in HyDraw.

The .bak file is always created automatically at the location from where the original.dwg file was opened. You can rename .bak to .dwg and open the drawing in HyDraw.

BAK files are backup files created on manual Saves (save commands) in HyDraw (previous

DWG versions).

SV$ files are automatic timed backups (auto save) of drawings (deleted on successful HyDraw exit)

AC$ files are temporary HyDraw working files for various functions (undo, hidden lines...), ac$ files do not contain drawing data.
