MDTools Add-in still appears in SolidWorks Add-ins List after Uninstall

MDTools Add-in still appears in SolidWorks Add-ins List after Uninstall

Issue
After uninstalling the MDTools 900 series, the MDTools add-in entry still remains visible in the SolidWorks Add-ins list.

Cause
This issue is commonly observed when a Service Pack (SP) or Hotfix (HF) is installed along with MDTools.
In such cases, uninstalling MDTools <version> may not remove the uninstalled version add-in registration completely.

Resolution
Scenario 1: MDTools is already uninstalled
If you have already removed MDTools but the add-in entry still appears:
  1. Install the MDTools <version> Base Setup again
  2. Uninstall the MDTools <version> Base Setup
  3. Open SolidWorks → Tools → Add-ins and verify the entry is removed
This method removes the leftover add-in entry properly.

Scenario 2: MDTools <version> is still installed
If MDTools <version> is still installed and you want to uninstall it cleanly:
  1. Uninstall the Service Pack (SP) and Hotfix (HF) first
  2. Then uninstall MDTools <version>
  3. Open SolidWorks → Tools → Add-ins and confirm the entry is removed
Removing SP/HF first ensures MDTools is unregistered correctly during uninstall.
