Why can't I select a line/face/point/sketch etc?
The selection filter may be limiting what you may select.
To check the selection filter, press F5. In the bottom of the screen you will see selection filter options.
Check the first icon starting from the left and make sure it is not selected. This deactivates the selection filter.
The selection filter menu can also be accessed from View > Toolbars > Selection Filter
