Why does MDTools crash when inserting a cavity or when creating a new block?

This can occur if  Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 present in Control Panel > Programs List is corrupted.

To resolve this issue:

    1. Uninstall Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 from Control Panel > Programs List.

    2. Locate the MDTools setup on your computer (default C:\VEST) & Install “AccessDatabaseEngine_X64” from …\MDTools-<version>-Setup\MDTools <version> X64\ISSetupPrerequisites\{3CC6563B-38C1-476E-97DF-2CCBD327C17C}.

    3. Install the Access update “msoloc2010-kb2553310-fullfile-x64-glb” from …\MDTools-<version>-Setup\MDTools <version> X64\ISSetupPrerequisites\{895AF347-1EC4-40E7-A27E-29397B20BB29}.

Then, reopen Solidworks and try creating a block and inserting a new cavity to check if the crashing is resolved.
