How NetSkeme Keeps Your Data Secure, Encrypted, and Confidential

How is my data kept secure and confidential?

How are files stored in NetSkeme and guaranteed to be kept confidential?
  1. NetSkeme is hosted on Microsoft Azure. Backups are made on Amazon Glacier.
  2. We do not store project files. Project files are automatically deleted when a user logs out. If a user closes the application without logging out, or if the application closes unexpectedly, a temporary file will be stored until the user logs back in.
    • We've had some customer requests to be able to store a small number of project files within NetSkeme so they may be easily accessed, and we may pursue this enhancement in the future.
  3. Each NetSkeme Plus user is assigned a personal folder where they can choose to store model data and hydraulic symbols (called “My Library”). Personal folders are not accessible to other users. The model data is stored in a SQL database.
  4. For organizations that use NetSkeme Enterprise, the organization's library will be stored as an SQL database along with symbol DWG files. Organization libraries are stored in assigned folders accessible only to users that the organization’s admin gives access to.

Can cloud files be managed by a company admin?
Organization libraries are managed by a company admin. Personal libraries are managed by individual users. Project files must be downloaded to the user's system and are not saved on the cloud.

Is the data encrypted at rest, and who has access to decrypt our data?
The data is encrypted at rest; we use Azure Managed Disk default server-side encryption.

Do your system admins and developers have access to read our data files?
System administrators and developers are authorized to access data for support reasons only.
