Interface Pattern Drills Are Automatically Suppressed When Inserted from a HyDraw Schematic

Issue:

When the user attempts to insert an interface pattern from a HyDraw schematic, the drills are automatically suppressed.

Cause:

The issue occurs due to a mismatch between the drill names in the HyDraw schematic and the corresponding Interface Pattern drill names in the MDTools library.
For example, in the HyDraw schematic tree, the Interface Pattern drills are named A, B, and C, while the corresponding drill names for the DMIC BVMM Interface Pattern in the MDTools library are 1, 2, and 3. Since the drill names do not match, MDTools cannot map the corresponding drills, causing them to be automatically suppressed.
This behavior can occur with any cavity whose names do not match the drill names exported by HyDraw.

Workarounds:

You can use either of the following workarounds:

Option 1 – Continue Using the Existing Interface Pattern

  1. Import the HyDraw schematic into MDTools.
  2. Manually unsuppress the Interface Pattern drills.
  3. Manually assign the appropriate net names.
Note: The Conformance to HyDraw Schematic check may report incorrect results when using this workaround. However, the remaining MDTools functionality should continue to work as expected.

Option 2 – Modify the Interface Pattern Drill Names

  1. Open the MDTools Library Manager and navigate to the Interface pattern which needs to modify.
  2. Rename the Interface Pattern drill names so that they match the drill names exported by HyDraw (for example, change 1, 2, and 3 to A, B, and C).
  3. Save the changes.
  4. Import the HyDraw schematic into MDTools again.
Once the drill names match, MDTools is able to correctly map the Interface Pattern drills, and they are inserted without being suppressed.

Additional Information:

This issue is caused by a mismatch between the drill names exported in the HyDraw XML and the corresponding Interface Pattern drill names in the MDTools library. The drill names must match for MDTools to correctly map the Interface Pattern during import.
